Climate and Disaster Resilience Pilot 2024
Contribution to the Climate and Disaster Resilience Pilot 2024 of the Open Geospatial Consortiums (OGC)
With the Climate and Disaster Resilience Pilot 2024, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has launched a new initiative aiming at developing applications/solutions in the field of geodata for improved crisis and disaster management and increased resilience to climate change for a diverse user group.
alpS GmbH contributes to the work package "From Analysis Ready Data to Decision Ready Indicators" and pursues the following objectives:
- identify knowledge and data gaps and needs (along climate impact chains) for the health and energy sector,
- determine how this knowledge and data should be visualised and processed in order to provide the best possible support for decision-making processes – from short-term to long-term decisions,
- derive appropriate information or indicators that best support the above-mentioned decision-making processes on the basis of the insights gained in the process (so-called Decision Ready Indicators/Decision Ready Information).
The focus of the proposed initiative is on a local/regional scale with a specific focus on Innsbruck and Tyrol. With regard to the phases of disaster and risk management, the contribution of alpS GmbH can be located in the sub-section of "prevention", as the data and knowledge addressed in the objectives are key in order to make respective decision.
