Development of a climate change adaptation concept for the electoral city of Kevelaer
The electoral city of Kevelaer is actively and proactively facing up to climate change!
Climate change is a reality and the town of Kevelaer is proactively facing up to the associated challenges. Together with our partner Drees & Sommer, we are therefore developing a comprehensive climate adaptation concept (German - KLAK) to minimise local risks and strengthen the city's resilience.
Based on an analysis of the initial climatic situation, the resulting climate impacts are derived. An assessment of the climate impacts (exposure, sensitivity) and the identification of hotspots provide the framework for the development of targeted adaptation measures.
A central component of the project is the involvement of local stakeholders such as mayors, municipal representatives, associations, committees, administration and emergency services. This participatory approach is crucial to ensure the long-term acceptance and implementation of the measures.
