Flood events in the Tyrolean uplands

The Tyrolean Hydropower Operator TIWAG is running several hydropower plants in the headwater catchments of the Tyrolean Inn River. This project aims at analyzing the magnitude and the spatial extent of observed flood events at 19 river gauging stations. The study contributes to a better understanding of past flood situations and allows conclusion with regard to hydropower operations focusing of sediment transportation and flood volumes.
