Impact of climate change on stormwater management in Vršac, Serbia

Posch & Partner consulting engineers was commissioned to prepare a stormwater master plan for Vršac, Serbia. Anthropogenic climate change poses a major challenge for stormwater management. Frequent and extreme precipitation will increase and lead to more overload situations of the sewage system in the future. The alpS GmbH carries out an assessment of the impact of climate change on stormwater management in Vršac. This includes an analysis of the observed precipitation trends for different extreme values and the projected precipitation changes. The study also includes a literature review of the latest findings on climate change in the region and a listing of effective climate change adaptation measures.
