Application-oriented results from research projects form the basis of successful adaptation (http://www.klimawandelanpassung.at/ms/klimawandelanpassung/en/).

The impacts climate change has on human and environmental systems are complex. Proposals for addressing these effects have to be worked out as part of a scientific investigation of the topic but also while carrying on dialogue with the people affected locally.

In transdisciplinary research projects in the field of climate change adaptation, projects are being successfully carried out on the topics of conveying understanding of climate impacts, co-design and co-creation, implementation of participative processes and the evaluation of research results.

> Mount Resilience - Systematic adaptation to climate change in Tyrol

The EU-funded Horizon project ‘MountResilience’ brings together almost 50 partners from Europe to promote climate change adaptation in mountain regions, including Romania, Switzerland, Italy and Tyrol.

The aim is to develop nature-based solutions that strengthen the resilience of the regions and promote their economic, social and ecological resilience. In Tyrol, customised solutions are being developed together with local businesses, municipalities and regions to serve as a model for other mountain regions in Europe. MountResilience combines scientific expertise, local experience and international cooperation for the sustainable development of European mountain regions.
